St. Michael’s Middle School Carol Service
Wow! What an incredible performance!
Wow! What an incredible performance! St. Michael’s Middle School Carol Service was again an indication that we are truly flourishing at St. Michael’s. The aspiration shown by both staff and pupils was evident through the ambitious compositions that were so creatively performed. Pupils showed true belief in their own abilities and worked together collaboratively to create a spiritually uplifting service through music, art and drama. It was an opportunity to connect with that which is bigger than us and explore our own faith.
The musical ensembles performed with confidence and musicality, showcasing their talents; they are clearly proud of their achievements.
Pupils who are undertaking the Arts Award were able to demonstrate their creativity through the beautiful banners that they created to depict how Christmas is celebrated in other parts of the world; they were processed through the Minster at the start and end of the service.
Pupils have reported how uplifting the service was as they were really able to ‘zone into the music’. It made them feel ‘happy inside’ and ‘made you think about all the good things in your life’. ‘Being part of the choir was joyful.’ They also reported that ‘being part of the ensembles highlighted individual talents.’
Staff have reported feeling such a strong spiritual connection during the service and how proud they feel of the pupils at St. Michael’s.
